How Medifast has changed my life.
It all became clear to me around January 1st, 2011 that I needed to do something about my weight. I was in the gym with my wife on the treadmill and I was struggling. My wife was truly concerned for my health and I was in trouble. The worst part of all was not the fact that I could not catch my breath, or couldn’t even run for 10 minutes, I was truly ashamed. I spent the majority of my Coast Guard Career as an elite Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. I was always in good shape and peoples lives depended on it. The last few years in a desk job and terrible eating habits gained me a total weight of 253, that’s correct 253.
As I was about to break down over the fact that I had topped the 250 mark, my wife suggested I read about the program Chris Matix had done. With support and encourgement from my wife and coach, we started the process.
Given the structure of the 5&1 meal plan I was able to get into a routine and plan out my entire day the night before. I helped that all the food I ordered actually tasted pretty good. After the first 3 day of the program I began to have energy I have not had in a long time. I found myself excited to get up in the morning to hope on the scale. Yes, I stood on that scale every morning. I was so excited to see the pounds drop and even more excited when my family asked “how much today?” Medifast caused me to look a food entirely different and start to eat things I would have never considered. It was pretty fun creating meals for my “lean and green” (Chicken and olives to start) I no longer eat just too eat, I know truly enjoy eating a great meal and not feeling stuffed, but satisfied. Once I got a real understanding of calorie control, I became more aware of what i was fueling my body with. From the beginning of the program, not once did I feel I was depriving my body.
I think the best part of all this, even better than losing 38lbs in 8 and 1 half weeks, is having people inquire how I was able to make this happen. I not only look at food in a different way, but I look at people differently. I can wait to share what changed my life.
Thanks for your mentorship and remember Big J…..Not so Big any more.
